Walking on water: incredible drone footage shows groups of friends dancing on massive lake frozen by cold snap
This incredible drone footage shows a group of friends walking on dancing on the surface of a huge lake FROZEN by a cold snap.
Four mates look like they’re walking on water as they slip and dance across Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota, USA.
As an ice buggy drives across the frozen lake, the four boys shuffle their feet, a couple of them barely keeping their balance on the slippery conditions.
Isaac Leif, 17, shot the footage on his quadcopter which flew over his three pals – Chris Kuehn, 18, and Jeremiah Broadway and Alex Mastin, both 18 – as they stood on top of 15ft deep water.
Isaac said: “It was definitely a new experience.
“We’re used to the lake freezing but, usually the ice is rough, making it opaque, or covered with snow.
“This ice was covered in a small puddle, all the way across the bay, which made for a very slippery surface.
“The one point I was scared was when the drone battery ran out and went to where I launched it from.
“On ground, I would simple walk over to it and catch it as it slowly descends.
“However, I had to sprint across this ice that I had no traction on.
“Luckily, I got there just in time.”
Isaac has been interested in filming ever since he used his parent’s video camera to create stop-motion animations.
He has only been flying drones since October when he bought his first one but, despite the frequent sub-zero temperatures in Minnesota, flies it as often as possible.
