Man builds remote controlled Christmas tree, flys it over town
A drone engineer has built a flying Christmas tree.
Otto Dieffenbach, from Flyguy Promotions, crafted the five foot tree – decked out with baubles, tinsel – over three months.
He says he had to overcome ‘several engineering challenges’ in order to create the 1.5 horse powered flying Xmas tree.
Video footage of Otto flying the electric motor drone over a park in San Diego, CA, has gone viral.
Otto said: “It has provided great laughs among my friends. One person suggested we build thousands and fly them into ISIS locations to change there ways.
“Another suggested this will be the next way to have a Christmas Tree. It flies in decorated for the holidays with presents and then flies away the day after.”
Otto used two lithium polymer batteries to provide energy to four electric motors.
