Incredible design company launch FLYING car
A ground breaking design firm have created a FLYING CAR – which has space for a family and comes with practical collapsible wings.
The idea for an airborne car has been a science fiction dream since the cartoon The Jetsons and hit film Back to the Future, but now Massachusetts-based firm Terrafugia have created the Transition- a road-legal airplane.
The vehicle can seat four and is small enough to fit in a garage, and comes with collapsible wings.
Owners will need a pilot and a driver’s licence to operate the Transition, and it has 20 hours flying time, where the makers aim for it to fly nonstop for 500 miles.
The founding team behind the creation are Carl Dietrich, Samuel Schweighart, Anna Mracek Dietrich, Alex Min- friends from University and they call the Transition, “our vision for the future of personal transportation.”
The team have also created a new product called the TF-X which is the next stage on from the Transition.
The TF-X can take off from standstill and has the ability to self-park, it can reach speeds of 200mph and doesn’t need a runway.
But the TF- X is still at the prototype stage and is not as developed as the Transition, which has shown off its incredible design in a series of public demonstrations on the road and in the air.
They said: “Our vehicles bring a new level of safety, convenience, and freedom to personal transportation.
“We have been dreaming about flying cars since the turn of the 20th century. The Transition street-legal airplane is the first step on the road to the practical flying car.
“We’re starting with proven technology and our product road map is designed to make personal aviation progressively safer and more accessible to a broader segment of the population.”
