Real-life human torch: man who gets set on fire for a living looks like fantastic four character
Meet the real-life HUMAN TORCH – a man who makes a living by getting set on FIRE.
Stuntman Joe Toedtling, 35, can walk for minutes at a time while his whole body is enflamed.
The daredevil act – which makes him look like the Famous Four character – has also seen him appear alongside George Clooney in The Monuments Men.
Now he is aiming to break his own world record of 5m41s for the ‘Longest Duration Full Body Burn’ later this month.
In order to carry out the amazing stunts he uses a heat protection gel and wears a Nomex suit, like the flame-resistant outfits of race car drivers.
Though the stunt is extremely dangerous, Joe, from Austria, revealed he has never been seriously hurt.
He said: “It’s a real strange feeling – a kind of coldness before you feel the heat.
“Soon you hear the sound of fire, crackling everywhere, and then it turns so hot you are not able to burn for another second.
“When people watch, there are open mouths and wide eyes everywhere.”
