Queen Elizabeth the third? Spitting image Patricia is a right royal lookalike
Believe it or not, this is NOT Her Majesty The Queen – but this amazing lookalike is realistic enough to make you look twice.
Patricia Ford, 79, works as an exam invigilator at her local college – but has an uncanny resemblence to Her Majesty.
Patricia, from Tamworth, Staffs, often gets stopped in the street by people who think she has a regal connection – and has spent the last 11 years touring the globe after being snapped up by a lookalike agency.
She said: “I do often get mistaken for her majesty, even when I don’t intend to be.
“When I’m walking up and down exam halls invigilating, the children do sometimes have to look twice. Hopefully I don’t distract them too much!
“I do get the odd person come up to me in the supermarket or in the street as well but it’s all fun, everyone seems to love the Queen so it’s never too bad.”
Patricia first started working as a lookalike 11 years ago when a few people commented on her likeness to Her Majesty.
Now, she travels all over the world for her work but says she never expected it to get so hectic.
“A few people told me how much I looked like her so I got some photos done and sent them off to a lookalike agency and it has snowballed from there.
“I never thought there would be as much interest as there has been but I just love what I do.
“I’ve met so many new people and everyone is always very gracious and plays along with the act.”
As the real Queen prepares to open Parliament following the recent General Election, Patricia will be just as busy acting as her body double.
“Just this week, I’ve taken enquiries about appearing in Poland, India and Switzerland,” she revealed.
“Sometimes I think I’m busier than the real Queen.
“The busiest I’ve been must have been the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
“That certainly was a very busy time, there was a lot of driving up and down motorways and even going to a private party in New York.
“I enjoyed it immensely though and I hope both the Queen and myself make it through to the Platinum Jubilee so I can re-live it all.”
Patricia even joked about the possibility of meeting Her Majesty to swap fashion tips.
She said: “I’d love to meet her, I don’t think there are many people who wouldn’t,” she said.
“Maybe we could swap fashion tips and who knows; she could make a good Patricia Ford lookalike.”
Widowed mother-of-two Patricia said she used to get comments about her likeness to the Queen when she worked as a school secretary but she never used to think anything of it.
Patricia said: “I got the odd comment asking if I knew how much I looked like the Queen, but I didn’t really take much notice at first.
“I never knew about any lookalike agencies until I read about one in a magazine, then I looked into it a bit more and found there were quite a few.
“I got some pictures done and sent them off and it just seemed to snowball from there.”
Whilst Her Majesty enjoys an occasional appearance in the royal box at Wimbledon’s Centre Court, Patricia’s keen interest in tennis means she’d much rather strut her stuff on the court.
“I love playing tennis and I still play when I can although it is difficult to fit it round work,” she said.
“I also enjoy playing bridge and I have a very large garden that needs tending to regularly, so that keeps me busy as well.”
