Pretty teen branded ‘beakface’ by bullies forks out £5k to become professional dancer
A pretty teenager branded ‘beakface’ by bullies has spent £5k on a new nose to help her become a professional dancer.
Bryony Aspinall, 18, from Newcastle Upon Tyne, was bullied throughout school by spiteful peers who branded her ‘beakface’ and rhino nose – something that shattered her confidence and left her wanting a new nose.
She was desperate to become a professional dancer but knew from the age of 16 that she needed the £5k operation before she would be able to step on stage to perform.
Bryony had previously undergone hours of therapy to try and improve her self-esteem but nothing worked.
So, with help from family, she forked out £5k for a rhinoplasty four-months ago.
Since the surgery she has started a foundation degree in dance and is now set to fulfil her dreams to perform in front of thousands.
Bryony, a full-time student, said: “My nose was crooked and had a hump in the middle, I was bullied horrendously throughout school.
“I was called all sorts of names but the worst were rhino nose, beak, with some people shouting that I had the Eiffel Tower on my face.
“I began to hide away and avoid social situations, therapy sessions failed to work and I was left feeling extremely unhappy.
“After failing to hit the criteria for NHS funding, I was helped by my family who paid the £5k for my surgery.
“I couldn’t be happier with the results, I feel like a new person and my confidence it back.”
Bryony began looking for cosmetic surgery clinics in April 2015 but after researching different companies online, she chose MYA.
She added: “Once I booked in with MYA I was so excited, I couldn’t wait get a straight side profile.
“I had a closed rhinoplasty so I had no scarring and the operation took just two-hours.
“When I woke up from the operation my face felt sore but I was relieved it was done.
“I waited a week to see my new nose underneath and it was perfect.”
Bryony decided to set up an Instagram page dedicated for her new nose to help others who were thinking about surgery.
She added: “I shared images of my nose before surgery as well as after and now.
“I decided to set up a page just for my new nose so other people can look at my before and afters.
“Hopefully it’ll allow them to decide if surgery is the right path for them.
“I’m so happy with my results and I can’t thank MYA enough for giving me the confidence to start university and fulfil my dreams.
“I had been bullied so badly throughout secondary school that I was left feeling really insecure.
“I tried my best to get on with things but if you’re unhappy with a feature on your face it’s impossible to hide.
“I had exhausted all other options and knew that surgery was the only thing to help correct my nose.
“I’m pleased I went through with it though as I finally feel happy with my appearance.”
After her rhinoplasty Bryony hasn’t ruled out further cosmetic procedures but doesn’t think she’ll go under the knife again.
She added: “I would quite like to have lip fillers at some point but I have got any urges to have any more operations.
“I’m happy now and can get on with my life, I love my dance course and I have high hopes of performing on stage.
“I would tell anyone who is unhappy about their body to trust MYA Cosmetic Surgery, I can’t recommend their aftercare and support enough.
“They did their best to calm my nerves and have given me the most perfect nose.”
