Hypnotised to have a baby: woman who suffered five miscarriages in four years finally has miracle boy
A woman who suffered five miscarriages in four years has finally given birth to a miracle baby boy – after she was HYPNOTISED.
Desperate for a baby, Leah Elliott, 40, from Stamford, Lincolnshire, began saving for IVF with fiancé, James Born, 34, so they could complete their family.
They had been left devastated by five miscarriages over just four years and the couple feared their baby dream would never come true.
But after stumbling across an article about hypnotherapy, Leah got in touch with hypnotist Russell Davis – who believes he can help women overcome fertility problems in their mind – and just three months after starting their sessions, she was pregnant.
And she and James were over the moon when their son Joseph arrived happy and healthy on March 19.
Leah said: “James and I can’t believe Joseph is ours, it is a dream come true, we had been trying for four-and-a-half years.
“I have no doubt that baby Joseph is only with us because I was hypnotised.
“I’m so grateful I came across Fertilty Road magazine at a fertility show last year, they put me in touch with Russell after I agreed to allow them to follow my story.
“Russell managed to change my way of thinking by helping me live a stress-free lifestyle.
“He taught me to stop convincing my body that I couldn’t conceive naturally.
“I was sent personalised CDs to listen to as I fell asleep and he really did manage to change my whole way of thinking.
“Longing for a baby didn’t need to be putting my life on hold and I started to realise that if it’s meant to be then it’ll happen.”
Leah had been saving for IVF but she decided to spend the money on going on holiday to Greece instead.
She added: “IVF puts a lot of stress on your body and I was always really worried about going through with it so we decided to keep trying naturally.
“I had been diagnosed with endometriosis and Graves disease, which both affect fertility, and I was warned by doctors that the likelihood of IVF working anyway was very slim.
“But just before I was due to go in July last year, I realised I hadn’t had a period.
“We were so excited when I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive.
“I decided to try and keep positive despite the risk of miscarriage and thanks to my hypnotherapy sessions I was able to remain calm.
“I had already made healthy changes to my diet and I know that also helped my fertility.
“It was amazing to watch my baby grow and as the weeks passed by it seemed all the more real that we were actually going to have a baby of our own.
“I already have an older daughter who is 18-years-old but I knew James really wanted to have children so it was a dream come true to be able to give him a son.
“After everything we had been through to conceive our baby and with my added health problems we decided to have an elected caesarean on March 19.
“He entered the world a healthy 7lbs 5oz and I haven’t been able to stop looking at him since.
“I’m so grateful to Russell for giving us our perfect son, I hope other couples struggling to conceive read our story and realise there is always hope and other options available.
“If you haven’t tried cognitive hypnotherapy then it’s definitely worth a try, it has changed our lives forever.”
Leah has now trained in Fertility Reflexologist as she wanted to help other couples who have been in their sitation.
She added: “I felt it was really important to get the message out here that people can make natural changes to improve their fertility.”
Russell Davis, fertility Cognitive Hypnotherapist said: “I believe too many couples go through fertility treatment unnecessarily and that the success rate is unnecessarily low because the mind and emotions are not dealt with in the process.
“This is born out in my own personal experience and the experience of my clients such as Leah and James.
“Leah had six sessions over three months.
“We started working together at the beginning of May and she was pregnant by the end of July.
“Leah got in touch with me when she saw a piece in magazine Fertililty Road, she signed up to the magazine, and in exchange for following her story, they put her in touch with me.
“My approach is Coaching and Cognitive Hypnotherapy – it is quite different to traditional hypnotherapy.
“I have personal experience of infertility, my wife had 10 years of both female and male infertility before conceiving our son naturally when were told it would be a 1 in a billion chance of it happening.”
