Doppelganger Christmas: Incredible moment women who look identical meet for the first time
This is the amazing moment two women who look completely identical met each other for the first time.
Sara Nordström, 17, from Sweden met with her 21-year-old doppelgänger Shannon Lonergan, from Ireland, after finding each other on a website which brings lookalikes together.
The pair could not believe their eyes when they met for the first time earlier this month in Dublin, before enjoying a Christmas-themed photoshoot together.
Sara and Shannon caused a storm on social media after both posting images of themselves to TwinStrangers.com, a website which invites members of the public to upload a photo and then searches for their doppelgänger.
And Sara, a student, even claimed her friends mistake photographs of Shannon for pictures of herself.
Shannon, a business student from County Kerry, said: “The scariest thing was how our noses, mouths, lips and eyes were so incredibly alike.
“It frightened me a little bit, but in a good way. As I spent more time with Sara I noticed how our expressions and ways of moving were exactly alike.
“Our personalities are a little different, Sara was a little more shy, but before too long we talked and acted like we had known each other for years.
“Nothing else was different – you bond very quickly with someone who has your face.”
Sara said: “It felt a bit surreal when we finally met, a bit like looking at yourself.
“When the Twin Strangers team saw myself and Shannon they posted a picture of us on their Facebook page and the response was phenomenal – so many people thought we were the same person they asked me to come to Dublin to meet her of course I said yes.
“We seem to see things the same way – there was a bathroom underneath the stairs in the house where we were staying and at different times we both commented: “It’s just like in Harry Potter!”.
“That was a bit strange.”
A spokesman for Twin Strangers said: “It sure is happy holidays after another incredible doppelgänger match was brought to us this festive season.
“The students found each other on TwinStrangers.com and in the spirit of things we decided to bring these two face-to-face to meet for the first time in Dublin, Ireland.
“The results are uncanny.”
