Daredevil runs across mountain ridge capturing beautiful landscape
A daredevil ran across an 800-metre high mountain ridge to capture shots of the breathtaking landscape.
Ryan Scott, 43, from Cape Town, South Africa, ran across the Mowbray ridge on Table Mountain, in November last year, but was undeterred by the sheer drop of the ridge on the mission to capture drone images.
Lifestyle and adventure photographer, Nick Muzik, 42, also from Cape Town, was persuaded by his friend, Ryan, to come along and with his drone to capture the stunt.
Nick said: “Ryan had been up on the ridge before and persuaded me to hike up with my drone and get some images and video of it.
“After about 90 minutes in, we arrived at the ridge.
“There was a bit of a breeze blowing which made the flying of the drone and the running of the ridgeline a little more tricky, but not enough wind to put us off.
“Ryan ran a couple of laps of the ridge while I flew around him trying to capture the best shot.”
Ryan, who works as freelancer travel writer as well as running a charity, has been running in the mountains now for over two decades.
He said: “It is safe if you do not have any vertigo issues, as standing or running over that precarious edge can get disorienting.
“Having said that, if you don’t literally trip and fall off the edge or take a step way to far to either side, then all is fine up there.
“It’s more about the exhilaration of the location, it’s views and the scope of moving along such a beautifully crafted piece of nature without impacting on it negatively in the least.”
