A bride who has travelled nearly 275,000 miles to be pictured in her wedding dress all over the world, has celebrated her tenth wedding anniversary – ticking more than 40 countries off her wish list.

After tying the knot on Easter Island, Chile, in 2008, Jennifer and Jeff Salvage decided to relive their wedding in as many different locations as possible – creating a series of pictures dubbed ‘One Dress. One Woman. One World’
Over the last ten years the loved-up pair have clocked up 274,747 miles, visiting 42 countries to snap Jennifer in her wedding gown.
Jeff, a professional photographer and university lecturer, has taken romantic pictures in hundreds of exotic locations and to keep her dress looking pristine Jennifer even takes the white gown to the dry cleaners after each trip.
The pair, who have just celebrated their tenth anniversary, have recently visited the UK, stopping for snaps at Giant’s Causeway, Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland and London.

Jennifer, a high school guidance counsellor, said: “Over the ten years, the project has given Jeff and I a common goal.
“It has improved our communication and our ability to read each other.
“Jeff is good at riding the line between pushing me outside my comfort zone without taking things too far.
“We have gotten much more adventurous with the dress over the years as we have evolved but at the same time, we are a little more safety conscious then we used to be.”
The project doesn’t come without risks though. Jennifer has contracted hypothermia twice and has also broken several ribs during her 200th shoot – an indoor skydive in Australia.

Despite the couple’s vast photo album they show no signs of slowing down with their sights firmly set on the Northern Lights for their next shoot.
Jennifer said: “I was extremely camera shy in the beginning, which is usually quite a surprise to people.
“I felt in some ways like an impostor since people often thought I was actually getting married.
“The fact that people think this project is even more romantic and their warm responses, have made me gradually get more comfortable.
“The number of photos Jeff takes to produce just picture that we publish would certainly shock people.
“Sometimes, he takes well over 100 pictures to get the one.”

To finance the project the couple travel as cheaply as possible.
Jennifer added: “Often people assume that we are spoiled. While, we are comfortable as two academics, we combine trips with other destinations such as Jeff’s photography of track and field events or volunteering for a charitable organization.
“For a few years we were the on site trainers for the Arthritis Foundation of Canada during their annual trip.
“We fly using frequent flyer miles, we seek economy lodging and usually are self-guided.

“Jeff has strong directional skills and I have an aptitude and passion for languages. Relying on the kindness of locals also gets us pretty far.
“We also try to cook some meals and eat where the locals eat.”
