Schoolboy dresses up as mustachioed celebrities including Keith Lemon and poirot everyday in Movember in memory of his granddad
A schoolboy is dressing up as moustachioed celebrities like Keith Lemon and Poirot every day in Movember in memory of his granddad.
William Heath, 12 from Earls Barton, Northants, wanted to help raise awareness of male cancer but was unable to grow an impressive mo himself.
Undeterred, William decided to dress as furry-faced celebs – including Keith Lemon, Magnum PI and Hercule Poirot.
He is hoping to raise money in memory of his “Pappa”, Robin Wickham, who sadly passed away in February at the age of 73 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Proud mum Clare, 43, said: “”Even though he has no chance of growing a moustache, William badly wanted to take part in Movember.
“My father Robin Wickham ultimately he died from pancreatic cancer but fought both testicular and prostate cancer during his lifetime.
“He was a very proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren, of which William is one.
“He would have been so proud of William’s effort and encouraged him 100%.”
On day one, William donned a pilot’s hat, goggles and shearling jacket in homage to Biggles.
Since then he has put on everything from a blonde wig and moustache for Celebrity Juice star Keith Lemon to a Hawaiian shirt and cap for Tom Selleck’s Magnum PI.
The designs have been split between homemade ones and ideas from Costume Hire in Earls Barton – who have offered services free of charge as it was for a charitable effort.
So far William has raised £800 through his Movember charity page but is hoping to raise as much as possible.
Dad Mark, 42, said: “At first he wanted to raise the most money in the world but realised that was a bit unrealistic.
“Now he’s set his sights on raising the most money per hair which he’s got a good chance of doing.”
