Community comes together after lava destruction in Hawaii
Hawaiian people have come together to help support one another in the wake of the Kilauea eruption.
These images show the community’s relief efforts in the village of Pahoa – an area ravaged by lava flows.
Photographer Joseph Anthony, 44, captured these shots and witnessed the efforts of locals to help those displaced by the eruption and ensuing destruction.
The village of Pahoa is currently under an Alert for volcanic activity with evacuations taking place in and around the area.
Snaps show the masses of donations and supplies that locals have come up with – independent of official effort.
