Muhammad Ali’s mystical estate hits the market – and with a rather unique price tag
Muhammad Ali‘s stunning and mystical estate has recently hit the market – and it comes with a rather unique price tag.
Priced at a whopping $2,895,037 USD [2,180,165GBP], it’s the “37” that’s caught the eye of buyers and the general public alike.
That number is the total number of knockouts Ali amassed in his career – and inside there is no shortage of boxing memorabilia and apparatus, to remind prospective buyers of The Champ’s aura, too.
Set in Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA, the estate comes with two houses, 81 acres, as well as the likes of a steam room, massage room, basketball court and boxing ring.
Ali both lived and boxed in the home, which is family reportedly bought in 1975, 10 years before “The Greatest” was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Many see the price as a bargain for knockout abode that comes with so much land and history, and to date, the listing agency, Cressy and Everett Real Estate, has received interest from the likes of Chicago, New York, and even the United Kingdom.
Once known as the “Louisville Lip” for his brashness, Ali used the home in his later years to have some serenity from the intensity of fame, as well as the perfect spot to recover
The estate, built in 1990, comes with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, as well as security.
Surrounding the abodes there’s the likes of a man-made pool, as well as a river, pond and vegetable garden.
According to listing agent Tim Mitchell, the estate was previous owned by one of Al Capone’s lieutenant bodyguards, Louis Campagna, and Capone himself lived down the river.
It was also Mitchell who suggested to Ali‘s wife, Lonnie, that they price the house with the number of knockouts her husband had tied in.
He added: “He was a very visible figure in the community, and he was a legend around here.
“You could host weddings, events – you name it.
“You could entertain five people in comfort right up to 500.
“It’s so quiet and peaceful and tranquil out there.”
