Kevin Costner’s personal retreat on sale for $5.6M (£3.5)
A luxury villa built as a personal retreat for Hollywood star Kevin Costner has gone on sale for an untouchable $5.59M (£3.56M).
Commission by the Oscar-winning actor in 1989, the Mediterranean style mansion sits in the coveted area of la Canada Flintridge in California, USA.
As well as a five-bed main house, the property comes with a connoisseur’s retreat, a 1000-bottle wine cellar, a spa room and aquarium.
It spans 32,000 square-feet and also boasts a library, gym and sport court.
The magnificent walled compound is decked with imported Spanish marble, Venetian Murano glass windows and has Polish hardwood floors.
Outdoor features include a spectacular pool and shower room and more than 2,400 square-feet of loggia and terraces.
The listing agent Kevin Grahn, from Partners Trust, said: “This home was built by Kevin Costner as his personal retreat and has the feeling of a private resort with expansive terraces and loggia by the large pool.
“Even though it was done on a grand scale it’s very comfortable for everyday living.
“One of the most interesting features is the connoisseur’s retreat which includes an aquarium, wine cellar and tasting room.”
The Italian palazzo sold for $2.69 million (£1.71million) in 1999 and again in 2013 for $4.72 million (£3.01milion).
