Its s-no-w mean feat! A delicate snowflake has been photographed up close and personal.
These incredible macro shots taken by photographer, Elena Solovieva, capture the intricacy of a single snowflake – and she claims it’s easy.

The 46-year-old engineer, from St Petersburg, Russia, has spent seven years perfecting her craft and believes she is the first to capture a set of snowflakes on camera.
She said: “About seven years ago I got seriously interested in macro photography.
“It is easy during the summer, there are plenty of insects and it is not a problem to find a model but during the winter the snowflake is probably the only choice.

“Technically it is not hard, you just need a glass put on the chair legs, a camera above installed on a tripod and a LED torch installed beneath the glass.
“I rarely use a flash. Usually I use macro lens.
“And the colder the temperature is – the more beautiful and different the snowflakes are.

“I believe I was the first who shot a selection of snowflakes or at least I have not seen the other examples.
“I will try to improve my skills though and continue playing with the backgrounds and so on to get that perfect shot.”
