Incredible photos of St Petersburg
These dreamy photos of Russia look like they came straight out of an ancient book of fairy tales.
Rather than real life structures, the famous landmarks appear far more like paintings inspired by folklore.
The images show an old sailing ship in St Petersburg’s harbour, and famous buildings such as the Hermitage and Winter Palace, Palace Square and Alexander Column, all set against dramatic skylines.
Andrei Mikhailov, a 33-year-old amateur photographer native to St Petersburg, toured his city to get these incredible pictures.
He said: “I love photography and my camera is always with me. I am inspired by the city view and landscapes.
“My friends and family all enjoy the pictures I take.
“When I take the pictures I try to process what I am seeing so I can make the scene more mysterious.”
