Couple announce pregnancy by creating quirky landscapes on mum-to-be’s bump
A father-to-be has come up with a quirky way to announce his first child – creating a series of wacky landscapes on his wife’s BUMP.

Photographer Simon Schaffrath turned partner Saskia’s baby bump into the likes of a desert island, ski slope and golf course.

You can reach everything
Creative Simon, from Frankfurt-Main, Germany, wanted to shoot something different to the routine pose of the male holding the female’s bump.

So he first painted 24-year-old Saskia’s body before adding a selection of model elements to the scene.

Know your goals
After photographing her body for the basic landscape, Simon, 27, then used his skills as a graphic designer to complete the scenes.
Each work also saw Simon dressed in full costume, which he shot separately, and featured ‘Theo’, short for Theodore, the name chosen for their baby.

He admitted creating designs with so many elements was quite time-consuming, with each scene taking around a week to bring to life.

You will find your way
Girlfriend Saskia is due to give birth next month and so far the couple are loving the response to their unique announcement.

Enjoy the moment
Simon said: “I’m a photographer and graphic designer, and we were both bored of the endless man-hold-wife’s-belly pictures.

“Both of us had a lot of fun creating these pictures – it took us time but we enjoyed being creative.

“We hope that when our son sees the pictures in the future, they will tell him how happy we were to have him.”
