Artist undertakes stunning two year project painting mini masterpieces every day
An dedicated artist has painted a mini masterpiece every day for almost TWO years.
Lorraine Loots has created a new piece of tiny artwork every day since January 1 2013.
The series, titled 365 Postcards For Ants Project, has included everything from stunning scenery to celebrities.
Lorraine, who lives in Cape Town, South Africa, decided to set aside one hour a day to get creative.
And the short timeframe only allowed her to paint small, intricate pieces.
Lorraine, 29, spends between three and six hours on her work, and will even be painting on her wedding day.
All the paintings are snapped up immediately – while she has already attracting tens-of-thousands of Instagram fans.
She said: “Some days are really hard – I think the pressure of having to create something for someone every single day starts to effect you on a subconscious level.
“The best part of my day has to be when I get to sit down and paint.
“Initially I thought of the project as a massive challenge like a marathon I would be relieved to survive.
“It also became this meditative time: a quiet and almost sacred part of each day.
“The response has been immensely positive and almost overwhelming.”
