Who wore it better? Toddler and dog dress up in identical outfits in adorable photography series
An adorable toddler and her pet dog have put a new spin on the ‘who wore it better?’ argument – after dressing up in a series of hilarious matching outfits.
Two-year-old Ella and her family pooch, French bulldog-Terrier-cross Charles, were snapped wearing numerous identical outfits including glasses, hats, back packs and even in fancy dress.
The heart-warming images were taken by Ella’s mum, professional photographer Jesse Holland from Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
Jesse started the series when her parents bought an owl hat for Ella around one year ago.
Having thought the hat looked cute on her daughter, Jesse decided to see what it would look like on Charles, who was not impressed.
Finding the disgruntled animal’s reaction hilarious, and having taken a picture of his expression, she decided to then take a picture of Ella and Charles in a pair of glasses the following day.
This was the beginning of a series of like-for-like images, which Jesse, 33, would put on her Instagram and send to family and friends.
She said: “I’m dealing with a toddler who has more and more opinions of her own every day, so the shooting needs to be kept short.
“Very often I only take three or four frames before she is over it.
“The dog has gotten a lot better at his stay command over the year and I am usually able to get a couple more of him.”
Jesse pursued the images as part of the ‘100 Days Challenge’, a project that encourages artists and photographers to upload a new image or work of creativity to Instagram every day for 100 days.
The photographer finished the project last week, but plans to continue adding to the set.
Because Ella and Charles are still relatively the same size, Jesse found the series still works aesthetically.
She added: “My parents have appreciated the updates on their grandkid, as they all live in the States and I am in Canada.
“Most of my friends on Facebook think it’s cute and some have told me they laughed out loud at seeing some of the photos.”
