Seeing double? Photographer captures stunning images of majestic lioness perfectly reflected in flooded road
This photographer will have you seeing double after capturing some stunning images of a majestic lioness perfectly reflected in the water below.
The lioness was eagerly waiting to cross a flooded road in the Vumbura Concession of Okavango Delta, Northern Botswana when snapper, Nick Leuenberger, captured these incredible shots.
The mum was desperate to be reunited with her three cubs as she gracefully tackled the watery terrain.
Nick, 36, from South Africa, said: “We headed out for the afternoon looking for lions. We had tracked them to a certain area knows as Marongas Island, a very wet and Marsh area of the Vumbura Concession in the Okavango Delta.
“As we came around a bend in a flooded road, we saw one lioness standing at the edge of that water waiting to cross.
“The reflection was perfect and I managed to capture a few shots of her.
“She crossed the water and was greeted by three young lions, her cubs and her sisters cubs.
“A few moments later her sister appeared from the same area she had and the three young lions rushed though the water to greet her.
“They then crossed the water together in front of my vehicle and later climbed up a rain tree to watch the sun set over another spectacular day in the Okavango Delta.”
