Quirky hedgehog café in Tokyo
There is a new café in Japan where customers are guaranteed a prickly reception because its full of HEDGEHOGS!
The new hedgehog themed café in Tokyo allows customers to enjoy a beverage while spending time with adorable hedgehogs.
The café called Harry – a play on the name for Hedgehog in Japanese – is the first of its kind and invites customers to touch, feed, cuddle and have their photo taken with the hedgehogs.
Hedgehog fans can even buy one of the prickly creatures and take one home as a pet.
Based in Tokyo’s Roppongi district, Harry is the latest in a long-line of animal-themed cafes in the country, following the opening of a cat, snake and owl café.
It is thought the hedgehog café is a way for people to relieve stress as people can relax and cuddle the unusually cuddly creatures.
For those worried about the hedgehogs spikes, staff are on hand to show them how to communicate with the animals, so as not to frighten them.
