Tobias Friedrich, a 35 year old underwater photographer from Wiesbaden, Germany snapped the seal gearing up to take a chunk out of him during his dive at Simonstown.

Tobias said: “This was probably one of the funniest dives I had, we all came out of the water laughing a lot!

“The seals started to interact very quickly with the divers and were extremely playful and curious.

“A seal came and bit me very gently on my arms and pulled down the strobes of the underwater camera.

Tobias Friedrich, a 35 year old underwater photographer from Wiesbaden, Germany snapped the seal gearing up to take a chunk out of him during his dive at Simonstown.

On the same dive Tobias captured a cute seal posing with a mouthful of seaweed and three sharks lurking beneath the boat.

Tobias said: “A seal played with a piece of kelb and I immediately knew that this could be an interesting behaviour to photograph.

“Another time a seal approached me from above and I saw his open mouth, so I pushed the camera quickly upwards and took a single frame where you can see it’s mouth wide open.”
