The flannel moth caterpillar, also known as a little sheep in Spanish, has an unfortunate resemblance to the Republican Presidential nominee. The caterpillar was snapped in the Peruvian Amazon by American photographer and teacher Jeff Cremer, who lives in Lima, Peru. Jeff, 38, said: I give photography tours in the Peruvian Amazon and while I was putting my boots on a guy said, hey, theres a cool caterpillar on a tree over there. “We found one of these hanging out on a leaf a few years ago and everyone said that it looked like Donald Trump’s wig. The name just stuck.

“It looks pretty interesting because of its size and bright colour. I also think it’s interesting that although it looks really cool, it’s actually very dangerous.

“The caterpillar has urticating hairs which can cause irritation when they break off and lodge in the skin.

“In some species these structures are hollow and connected to poison producing cells.

“Generally most hairs are only irritating, but some are dangerous to the eyes and respiratory tract, and some can cause severe skin necrosis and shedding.”
