Incredible pictures taken from the ground make it look as though photographer is about to get trampled on by a herd of elephants

It looks as though this photographer is about to get trampled on by a herd of elephants in these incredible picture taken from the ground – but don’t be fooled.

The amazing snaps, which show the huge mammals in a new light, were actually taken using a time lapse GoPro.

Photographer Richard Ian Carey, masterminded the shoot and used a small drinking lake in Laikipia Wilderness Camp, Kenya as his setting.

The 43-year-old, who was born in Zimbabwe and is now based in Thailand, placed the GoPro at the water’s edge where he knew the elephants would come to drink.

He then set the camera on time lapse mode to take a picture every five seconds.

He said: “I mostly do underwater photography but also enjoy wildlife photography when I get the opportunity.”
