I Doe! World’s biggest bunnies tie the knot!
Forget puppy love…it’s all about bunny love! These sweet snaps of the world’s biggest bunnies tying the knot will bring a smile to your face this Easter.
The big fat bunny wedding saw loved-up monster rabbits Darius and Honey dressed up in their finest as they said ‘I doe’ with customised carrot rings.
Record-breaking bunny Darius weighs in at a whopping 2st 5lbs and is a ginormous 4ft 3, while his new bride Honey weighs 2st and measures 3ft 11.
Their owner, 65-year-old Annette Edwards – who holds her own record as the oldest Page 3 model – said it was love at first sight the devoted bunnies, who can’t bear to be apart from one another.
Annette, from Worcester, said: “Darius is a record-breaking rabbit, and his other half Honey is the biggest girl we’ve ever had.
“You know what rabbits are like – as soon as they met they started being a bit naughty!
“There was an instant spark between them.
“Darius is always licking Honey’s face, like he’s kissing her, and she’ll nuzzle herself into him.
“They loved the wedding, because they love being together.
“They’ll spend their honeymoon hopping around together, looking at the sheep in the field.
“People just stare in amazement when they see Darius and Honey – they’re shocked, they can’t believe how big they are.
“People have never seen rabbits this big before!”
Seven-year-old Darius his new wife Honey, 11 months, are both Continental Giant rabbits –and Annette forks out thousands of pounds every year on carrots and food for the greedy pair.
Darius and Honey are also the proud parents of two adorable six-week-old bunnies – and Annette reckons the babies will grow to be just as big as their mum and dad.
Annette, who has 10 children, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, said: “Darius is from a family of giant rabbits but he is the biggest bunny in history.
“It’s amazing just how big he is.
“People love coming round to see Darius – he is bigger than most dogs.
“The family all love him and he has a mischievous glint in his eye.
“There is no secret to growing the world’s biggest rabbit – I just look after them as if they were dogs.
“I treat them really well and indulge them in the odd carrot or 12.”
