Frustrated stag looks like he’s having a bad hair day

STAGS BAD HAIR DAY

If you thought you were having a bad hair day, just take a look at this stag!

The beast was spotted in Richmond Park, London, after getting various debris including leaves and branches stuck in his antlers.

And he wasn’t the only one: Richmond Park, along with Bushy Park, were full of dishevelled stags making the most of rutting season.

Amateur photographer Kevin Pigney, from Burwell, Cambridge, said it’s a unique experience when the animals come together at the beginning of autumn.

Once a year, the stags compete for the females and mark out their territory – often resulting in some rather interesting hairstyles.

The 53-year-old said: “The stags get really territorial this time of year.

“They mark out their area with their antlers and end up with everything tangled in them.

“It was amazing to photograph but you realise you have to be careful as they can be very dangerous.

“Their hormones are all over the place!”
