Food fight: Three feisty lions tussle over kill
These fierce lions decided to take the term food fight quite literally, as three of them violently tussled over their prey in a screen of dust.
Captured by Gordon Donovan in Etosha National Park, Namibia, Africa, the images show the cloud of dirt flying as three lions came together over a springbok carcass.

As the drama progressed, two young males successfully fought off the older male, with one even making off with a leg.
The scrap took place on November 29, 2018, with Gordon, from New Jersey, USA, not initially realising the fight was over a kill.
Initially, Gordon had headed down to the watering hole to watch two lions attempt to attack either a zebra or a springbok, and following the kill the three-way scrap took place.
He said: “I did not realise that the fight was over a kill.

“Young male lions are not good hunters – this one lion who led the charge must have been hungry.
“Then the older male coming out of nowhere got involved.
“All I had saw were the three nomads who were kicked out of a pride.

“It was exhilarating and shocking, as one male came towards with the head of the decease.
“It all happened very quickly and I am glad I was patient and did not try to move.”
