Dog-tor Dolittle! Dogs form incredible friendship with farmyard animals
You’ve got to be kidding! These are the adorable pictures of two Saint-Bernard dogs who have formed a remarkable friendship with a goat.
Pet dogs Julie, 6, and Basiel, 3, are not only doggy pals but are rarely pictured without their animal entourage – consisting of a kid goat, fluffy chicks, a Shetland pony, a donkey and some chickens.
Often pictured with a chick on their head or a goat on their back, these laid back pooches have become friends with a whole host of farmyard animals.
But from their unusual circle of friends, their closest pal is a kid goat called Hans who rarely leaves their side.
The inseparable trio enjoy daily naps and walks together with their owner Isolde Mattart near to their home in Damme, Belgium.
Student Isolde, 23, said she her dad was a vet and she had been surrounded by animals her whole life.
She said: “We have 3 dogs, 6 cats, a donkey, a shetland pony, lots of chickens and ducks, a goat and some turtles in the pond.
“Basiel is much younger than Julie but Julie is incredibly sweet and tolerant towards other animals and Basiel has copied her behaviour.
“The goat became friends with the dogs, soon after he arrived. It happened very fast and smoothly, they immediately accepted him.
“The dogs are definitely closest to the goat, they nap together, sunbath together and love going for walks together.
“They’re gravitated towards the goat because they absolutely love interaction, whether it be with humans or animals.
“The dogs mean the world to me and it makes me so happy to see them being polite and loving towards the other animals.”
