Bless you! Giraffe almost soaks unsuspecting bird with giant sneeze

This is the moment an unfortunate bird got a soaking when it was sneezed on by a GIRAFFE!

The unlucky oxpecker was clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time when it was caught in a jet of drool from the giraffe’s mighty sneeze.

Giraffe sneezes are something of an occupational hazard for oxpeckers who feed on the ticks and open wounds of large mammals.

Unfortunately for this oxpecker dinner time became more like bath time when the giraffe it was feeding off had a tickly nose.

The images were captured by Lisl Moolman from Western Cape, South Africa.

Hobby photographer, Lisl, 42, was photographing animals at a waterhole in Kruger National Park South Africa when she captured the funny moment on camera.

Lisl said: “As I live next to the park, I drove in for the late afternoon.

“I was planning on shooting some photos of the giraffe drinking, it was a bonus to get the shots of the oxpeckers being sprayed by the water.

“I love shooting animals drinking, so I suppose the practice enables me to capture these shots easily most of the times.

“As oxpeckers feed on ticks and blood from open wounds, most animals serve as their hosts and they spend the biggest part of their day on these hosts.

“When their hosts drink water they will temporarily fly up just to move back to the host again.

“As I capture photos of animals drinking on a regular basis, I have captured almost similar images before.

“But this was the first time the oxpeckers were positioned so clearly and in such a precise position.”
