Bat’s entertainment – Photographer snaps incredible fast-motion shots of nighttime bats

These stunning images bring to life the beauty of bats, capturing the flying creatures as they emerge from the darkness and land on vibrant flowers.

They are the works of photographer Alberto Camardiel, who, through fast-motion imagery, manages to shoot the exact moment the bats come into the frame.

The most difficult part, Alberto, 42, said, is that bats have a strong sense of where a photographer or camera might be – meaning he needs to be extremely cautious when approaching potential landing spots.

In order to capture his collection of shots – taken over the course of a month – Alberto suspended himself some five meters in the air, managing to get with 30cm of the bats on some occasions.

Going forward, the photographer for Caracas, Venezuela, plans to continue adding to his series.

Alberto, who photographs the bats in his garden, said: “I used different techniques.

“First, is patience and passion to capture a great moment.

“The most important is trying to anticipate the bat’s movements.

“I think that I just try to express the power of nature – many incredible moments that nature has.
