Walking on sunshine images from the salt flats in South America
A man has been spotted walking on water in Bolivia, that is, until you realise it is an optical illusion.
Hideki Mizuta, 29, from Japan, captured the image of the wellie-clad tourist strolling across the water and towards the sun, while he was at Salar de Uyuni salt flat in Bolivia.
As one of the flattest places in the world, Salar de Uyuni becomes covered in a thin layer of water during the rainy season and becomes a mirror image of the sky at that moment in time.
In another snap, a group of men appear to have parked their cars on thin air as they take a roadside break, the cloudy sky reflected in the water to appear as though they are navigating through a highway of clouds.
Hideki said: “When I first went at night I saw a star-filled sky before waiting for sunrise in the car.
“Early in the morning amazing view that I could not put in into wards appeared through the window.
“I walked away from all the other people there and took several photos in absolute silence.
“It was absolutely breath-taking scenery.
“Salar de Uyuni is one of the most amazing places in the world, especially during rainy season when it becomes like a huge mirror, reflecting everything above it.
“It looked like I was dreaming. If there is a heaven, I hope it is like there.”
