Stunning images show lightning bolts lighting up the parisian sky – even hitting the eiffel tower
These stunning images show how lightning lit up the Parisians sky yesterday – even striking the EIFFEL TOWER in the process.
Two forks of lightning can be seen hitting the tip of the iconic landmark in a shot that took photographer Bertrand Kulik all day to capture.
Bertrand waited in his apartment on Tuesday, May 22, hoping for a chance to witness the once-in-a-lifetime moment – a task, he said, was very difficult to undertake.
Despite being inside his apartment, the dreary conditions made shooting with two cameras extremely difficult, he added.
In his other images, Bertrand snapped lighting striking various parts of the city, the dark silhouette of the Eiffel Tower still prominent in the foreground.
The photographer, from Paris, said: “For the story I waited all the day in my Parisian window, hoping to catch the lightning strikes.
“The storm was impressive and I had the chance to catch a lightning falling on the top of the Eiffel Tower with the two cameras I set up.
“I was so excited when I saw that I had this.
“Sometimes the rain and the wind were, so strong that was not easy to capture, even though I was in my flat.”
