A heavy snowfall turned these trees into bizarre figures – including a T-Rex, unicorn, elephant, and even a man walking a dog.

PE teacher Valtteri Mulkahainen, 57, shot the atmospheric images after a flurry at Riisitunturi National Park in Lapland on December 31.

Valtteri, from the village of Sotkamo in Finland, said as the thick drifts landed on the firs, they formed otherworldly shapes.

The snapper of eight years added: “I really like to photograph snow-covered trees in winter, they often remind me of different creatures.

“Sometimes in the dark, when you take pictures, it seems to me that they come to life.

“Winter on the hill tops means a lot of snow, and the drifts give the trees different shapes.

“Therefore, your imagination can see there all sorts of amazing things.

“I always see the figures of dinosaurs, mammoths, giraffes, gnomes and even alien inhabitants.”
