These stunning pictures have got to be some of the most adventurous selfies out there – and believe it or not, the stunning backdrops are all WELSH.

All taken by one man, the images show Gareth Owen,  a Welsh electrician, as he poses and using his timer captures himself posed up.

From towering peaks to stunning lakes and even gloomy but beautiful caves, there’s no place he hasn’t explored.

And incredibly, the 29-year-old has only been taking pictures for about 24 months.

Gareth, from Gwynedd, Wales, said: “I enjoy the fact you don’t need to travel far to get epic locations, we are lucky in the UK having some of the most dramatic and beautiful National parks in the world.

“On the right day and in the right weather conditions would not want to be anywhere else in the world.

“I take the photos using a timer; I will set the exposure and composition manually and then let the timer go giving me enough time to get into frame.

“I probably started photography about 24 months ago and I enjoy being able to relive a moment in the mountains at home by looking back at the shots.

“Most of my shots are taken during sunrise or sunset or during the night and often include myself in the shots to add scale to the mountains and created for a more dramatic composition.

“I get a lot of positive feedback from friends and family and through online.

“Quite often I receive messages to say I have inspired someone to get out and enjoy the mountains or visit a specific location they have seen in one of my shots.”
