The 43-year-old said: “I grew up in Tucson and have always been fascinated by storms and especially lightning.

“There’s nothing quite like shooting lightning. It just moves so fast and with so much power. And it’s so unpredictable.

“Shooting lightning is very dangerous, especially if someone doesn’t know what they’re doing.

“I keep a very close eye on the radar and I try to stay out of the storm as much as possible.

“So I’m constantly moving around in most cases. If everything goes perfectly, I don’t get very wet and I’m always off to the side or out in front of the storm.

“I probably chase storms around 30 times a year. If there’s a storm in or near Tucson, I’m probably chasing it.”
