Incredible moment kayaker passes through an icy waterfall

This is the death-defying moment a thrill-seeking kayaker plunges 30ft from the top of a ferocious icy waterfall.

Taken this summer during a freakish cold spell, the heart-stopping images were captured on camera by celebrated extreme sports photographer Eric Parker and show kayaker Todd Wells, tackling the 30ft drop of the Little White Salmon River, a tributary of the Columbia River in Washington, USA.

Adrenaline junkie Todd is no stranger to danger but hurtling down the gnarliest of white-water depths, with icy cold water surrounding him was a lifetime highlight.

Professional sportsman Todd said: “This kayak experience was out of this world and definitely one of the best moments of my life.”

Photographer Eric, from Wyoming, USA is a champion in the world of extreme sports photography and he managed to catch all the action on his trusty camera.

Eric said: “Rivers are incredible pieces of nature and these pictures show that nature off perfectly.

“There are few things more amazing than water falling in the sky, which is why I love to shoot waterfalls.

“It was amazing to watch Todd tackle this waterfall so skillfully.”
