Human washing line! Spectacular pictures of silk acrobats dangling 400ft above the ground
It might look like a human washing line – but these aerial acrobats are practising their moves over a canyon 400ft above the ground.
These stunning pictures were captures by photographer Keith Smith, 43, who visited the massive slackline – where acrobats, slackliners and base jumpers gather every year to feel the thrill of performing hundreds of feet above the mountains below.
The amateur photographer – who works as a postman – captured the aerial acrobats hanging from what look likes a giant washing line.
Keith said: “It’s impressive to see in person, and even more impressive to see the process of how it’s suspended over a canyon 400 feet above the ground.
“To get a better angle for this shot, I scrambled down to a ledge below the canyon rim.
“This image reminds me of the overall feel of the gathering.
“It looks peaceful as these three ladies were elegantly performing on the silks suspended from the net in the centrE of the canyon, but in reality, all around us people were hooting like monkeys, cheering, BASE Jumping off the cliffs, doing flips on Highlines, and playing on a 300 foot rope swing.”
