Hang in there! Amazing photos of climbers dangling from cliffs
Whatever you do, don’t look down! These vertigo-inducing photos of climbers hanging from cliff faces are just dizzying to look at.
The climbers, who were scaling the Dolomites 1800m above sea level near Marmolada, Italy.
While the course was only 25m long, the climbers took around an hour to complete the dry tooling route, which was 50m up from the face below.
Gaetan Raymond was snapped dry tooling across the route, which he completed using ice axes and crampons.
While dry tooling began as a way to train for more advanced mountain routes, there is now an international competition circuit which even has its own world cup.
The photos were taken by Pierre Chauffour, who filmed Gaetan take on the route on 20 and 21 February.
