A rescue operation is currently underway across Aberystwyth, Wales, after freak flooding hit the area, with water levels as high as the first floor of some residential houses. Two caravan sites – Riverside Park in Llandre and Mill House Park in Dol-y-Bont have also been badly affected by up to five foot of floodwater. Emergency services were called to the area at around 3am this morning after the Reheidol river burst its banks from Dolypandy Capel Bangor downstream.
