This is the incredible view of a galaxy, far, far away – pictured from down on earth.
The Andromeda Galaxy, the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way, can be seen shining above a remote village in Switzerland.
The amazing images convey the beauty of the star system gleaming above the picturesque mountains.

Photographer Sandro Casutt took the snaps in different seasons throughout the year, from his home valley of Vals, Switzerland.
Sandro said: “It took me a year of observation to work out exactly where the objects are rising and setting, thankfully it only now takes a few minutes to get the shots.

“I feel blessed to have taken these amazing pictures, they were so eye-opening that they made me ask myself questions such as ‘what is the meaning behind it all’?
“I’ve always had a love of stars and I’ve loved photography since the nineties.
