This eerie abandoned church haunted by creepy ghost-like figures will send a shiver down your spine.

The disturbing figures, shrouded in white sheets, represent the ghosts of Sudeten Germans – who played a role in the history of the small village in the Czech Republic where the 14th century churchis located.

They have been placed around the run-down church, both standing and sat down in the old wooden pews, as the walls crumble around them.

The spooky snaps of the church, which was abandoned in the 1960s, were taken by urban explorer Roman, 29, during a trip around Europe.

Roman, from the Netherlands, said: “The church became abandoned after the ceiling collapsed during a funeral service, and the locals became afraid so they boarded up the building.

“From then on, services were held outside instead.

“The ghostly figures inside are part of an art project, hoping to attract tourists to raise money for renovation works.

“I’ve tried to create a combination over over-viewing this beautiful old church and haunting close-ups.

“One of the ghostly figures was placed right behind the door, and it greeted me as I entered – I have to admit, it scared me for a second.

“The figures look very real and have been created very well.”
