WORLD'S UGLIEST DOG CONTEST
Mangy mutts from around the globe will gather this week at the only beauty pageant they might ever stand a chance of winning - the World's UGLIEST Dog Contest. The annual show in California, USA, welcomes all dogs from pugs to terriers, sausage dogs and chihuahuas in an attempt to discover the worst-looking canine on Earth.
ALEX HONNOLD FREECLIMBING
The climber fearlessly takes on huge Cliffside's without a rope to stop him from falling. Three years ago he free climbed up Yosemite's Half Dome in two hours and fifty minutes. The most known image is of Alex standing 1700 feet up the Northwest face of the Half Dome with his back to the wall and a sheer drop in front of him.
GIRL ORGAN DONATION LETTER
This is the heartbreaking open letter written by a little girl begging people to sign up to the organ donor register - after her dad saved the lives of four people from beyond the grave. Caitlin Robertson, nine, penned the touching tribute to her dad, Gary, after he died suddenly after suffering a brain aneurysm - but donated his organs to save four other lives.
BABY CHALKBOARD ADVENTURES
This adorable sleeping baby has been hilariously transported into different fantasy lands by his imaginative parents - by using chalk to create scenery around the tiny tot. Californian baby photographer Anna Eftimie began photographing her new-born son Serban when he was just five-days-old but her husband had an idea how to make the images even more special.
A bizarre fashion craze is turning heads left, right and centre on the streets as fanatical animal owners transform their pets into zebras, tigers and even action men. The popular American trend is sweeping through the UK, with people splashing thousands on pooch pampering to give their four-legged friends the ultimate star treatment. With a vast range of styles on offer, these mollycoddled mutts and moggies have been groomed to the peak of creativity.
METHANE BUBBLES EXPLOSION
This is incredible moment ice became fire when a frozen lake released a deadly gas that explodes into a massive FIREBALL. Toxic bubbles of highly-flammable methane are trapped in grenade-like bubbles just inches beneath the surface of the ice. Once popped methane escapes the bubbles and ignites in spectacular explosions triggered by big bang-loving boffin Katey Walter.
11 STONE HALIBUT
Right time, right plaice? No this is in fact a halibut - and it weighs in at whopping 11 stone. Tipping the scales at 70kg, this rare halibut was line-caught in the deep waters of the North Sea near Shetland, Scotland. Crabhakk restaurant in Glasgow's west end received the giant fish, and head chef David Scott will turn the massive halibut into fillets, scampi and curry. It will take an entire team to fillet the human-sized beast, which cost the restaurant a staggering £950.
